I am so, so sorry.

For me, I find that only time really makes it better, but it does help to know that other pet people understand how it hurts. Hugs.

I'm sorry. I lost my little toy poodle Andy on the 30th. 13+ years young. Even though he was only 7 pounds and as quiet as can be, he had the presence of a 300 pound man.

Thoughts are with you.

It is unbelievably tough to lose our four-footed family. I found that when our two girls died over a year (cancer, within a month of each other) ago that looking at pictures of them over the years and that way remembering the good times helped. It's so hard that they have to go first. My idea of heaven is being back with my beloved dogs. Now, over a year later, we have a rescued malamute. He's a lovey. I know it will be tough to love him, but the love is so fantastic. I hope you are doing better now some time has passed.

thank you all for your comments. it is really appreciated.

it snowed today; a really big long snow and we were just remembering how much she loved to play in the snow when she was younger. if she were still here she wouldn't be able to cope with it at all. my husband would not only have to dig a path through the snow, he would have had to carry her out and back in. her footing was just so bad there at the end.

i prefer to remember her playing in the snow. she loved it so.
